Information processed
Our hosting provider may process standard server-log information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, referring page, response status, and request time. We use this information for security, availability, abuse prevention, and aggregate site diagnostics. We do not ask visitors to create an account or submit payment information to download firmware.
A download interaction may record an aggregate event containing the firmware version, selected source, time, and success or failure state. The countdown works in your browser and does not require personally identifying information.
Cookies and third-party services
The core download and documentation experience does not require an account cookie. Hosting, security, analytics, or advertising services may set cookies or use similar storage when those services are enabled. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies and applicable consent requirements.
External links can take you to Sony, PlayStation support, RPCS3, or another source. PS3 Firmware Wiki does not control the privacy practices or content of those independent websites. Review the destination's policy before providing information there.
Google advertising and identifiers
When Google advertising products are enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may collect, share, and use information to serve, personalize, measure, and protect advertising. This information may include cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device or browser information, and other identifiers.
Third-party vendors may place or read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons and IP addresses, because ads are served on this site. Available consent controls and advertising choices depend on your location, browser, and the services active during your visit.

Retention and security
We retain operational logs only as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and aggregate measurement. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the limited information the site processes.
To ask a privacy question or request action available under applicable law, email [email protected]. Include enough detail to understand the request, but do not send passwords, payment data, game account credentials, or sensitive console information.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when the site's services, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page rather than silently applied to an outdated copy.
